This was our first week back to having in person lessons and it was FANTASTIC!!!!
We are still continuing to use video calling and social media to do work as well so things are not completely back to normal.
This week we got a lot done! We had a crazy dust/rainstorm in Parma, so the weather has cooled down a bit.
We had a lesson with Caroll that was a little bit harder than last week. We taught the Restoration and Caroll had lots of questions. We answered her questions but we could tell that she was not quite understanding everything. We talked about how the greatest way we can know truth is by the Holy Spirit. We invited her to pray and really hope that she keeps this commitment because we know that her prayer will be answered.
Our lessons with Mary have been going great! She is really striving to deepen her relationship with God and overcome her addictions that she has. She has been doing amazing but told us she really struggles to feel like he is there. She was reading through Come Follow Me this week and especially loved Alma 5. We talked about fasting and invited her to fast this week and she is going to do it!
We had our last lesson with Nick this week and we finally got to meet in person! We were teaching the Plan of Salvation that night. If you have been following along, you already know that Nick is amazing but get this..... he is already in Alma 26 in the Book of Mormon!!! We invited him to set a date for his baptism and he said that he already had one in mind! So Nick is on date for August 24th! It is a significant day to him and he is so excited. I have loved teaching Nick. He has a genuine desire to follow Christ and change his life. I am going to miss teaching him every week, but thankfully we are in the same small town so we are bound to run into each other :))
Other things we got to do this week were make more videos for our Facebook page (of course), help weed a garden, and do some service at a graveyard to help clean up after Memorial Day!
This week someone shared this with us and I loved it so much/have been thinking about it, so I just wanted to share. What is the greatest battle ever fought in the Book of Mormon? There are many battles that are fought throughout the book but something they all mention and have in common is the phrase "harden their hearts." That is a battle that we fight today. All that God asks from us is a broken heart and a contrite spirit. When we harden our hearts we create our own battles and struggles. So it is up to us to chose to soften our hearts and offer them up to the Lord. We will ALWAYS be better off for it even though the world tells us we will not.
I love you all and we will see what happens next week!!
Love,
