This week has been very busy and full of crazy weather! At the beginning of the week it got up to 88 and ever since Thursday it has been pouring rain in 43 degree weather. That's Idaho for you!
This week while tracting we met a lady named Eman who is Muslim. We hardly said anything and she welcomed us right into her home. We talked for awhile about our religions and she was very interested with the similarities we share. She told us that she would love for us to come back and talk again. That was a small miracle. Earlier that day I was a little discouraged. We had knocked on so many doors and no one was receptive. I was so grateful for the chance we had to meet Eman.
The next day we were tracting and we knocked on one door and a man opened the door. We didn't say anything and he jumped right in and asked us, " how are you doing?" He told us, "I would really like to talk to you guys, but my 2 year old is screaming and my wife is trying to sleep." Sister McPhee and I walked away and were like, " what just happened?" The next door we knocked on a lady answered and said " hi" looked at our tags said "no" and shut the door. We did not get the chance to say one word. As we walked away Sister McPhee joked, "oh whew, that feels more normal!"
The rest of the week was just full of lots of rain. On Thursday we were biking when it started to rain. Thankfully we had our rain coats. By the end of the day we could literally wring out our dresses and our hair was dripping wet.
Last week I told you about Daniel and Berna who our WML and another member met while fishing last Saturday. We met with them on Sunday and had a really great discussion. Daniel told us his story and it was amazing to hear.
Daniel is originally from Iran. Religion there is so harsh and not happy at all according to him. He said that there is a rule for literally everything and it was so confining. He did not ever like it and eventually left and went to Turkey. At this point in his life, he had had such bad experiences with religion that he rejected all religion completely. For 15 years he had nothing to do with it. He moved to America for work and began to notice some differences about Christain Faith's. He said the people were happier and actually liked their religion. When he moved to Idaho he began to notice more differences with members of The Church of Jesus a Christ of Latter-Day-Saints. They seemed to have so much joy and he realized that it has to come from somewhere. Him and Berna went out fishing last Saturday and went to a different spot than they had planned. He had barely gotten to putting the worm on his hook when 2 guys walked over to them. Was this a coincidence? No!
Daniel is very scientifically minded but he told us that the chance that they met together on that day were one in a million and something had to be guiding it. He doesn't believe science can explain all things and has a great desire to learn more. At the end of our discussion he even went as far as to say that one day he Hope's he can join "us" when he knows for himself.
He is trying to read the the Book of Mormon and we are planning to meet with them again soon. I am so grateful that we have such great member missionaries in our ward that gave us this opportunity to teach Daniel and Berna. They have most definitely been led to this point in their lives and are so prepared to hear the gospel.
I hope all is well at home and I love you all!
Love,
Sister Beutler

I forgot to add in my email that this week we had a special Sisters Conference. All of the sisters in the mission met in Twin Falls and we had 7 general women authorities from the church come speak to us. They spoke to us for an hour before they had to go to other meetings they had and even though it was short, it was amazing! We had women from the General Relief Society, Young Women's and Primary Board. I got to shake all their hands and it was so cool to see how normal they are. They are just like us! The church just recently released a video about the women of the church that point out that fact. You should look it up if you get a chance!
