This week has seemed to be especially crazy. Last Monday we did Tai-Chi and let's just say that was an experience! The senior couple in our district taught Tai-Chi and Kung Fu in St. George. We all struggled quite a bit, but it was fun! We also met the funniest lady that day while we were tracting. We knocked on one door and this black lady answers, takes one look at us and says, "Oh you're God's people, I go to the church of God! Come on in!" Let's just say that she has some CRAZY stories that would take way too long to tell. She has definitely had lots of miracles in her life. Her favorite line (instead of saying "I prayed" or something like that) was to say, "So I just called up God!" She said that phrase over and over again. We gave her a Book of Mormon and she seemed excited to read it.
On Tuesday we ended up biking about 12 miles! I was starting to question why people do this for fun. We were in the country part of our area, meaning the houses were more spread out and about 5 minutes from some new subdivisions that were just built. I know, country and Boise don't go together. Well here go Sister McPhee and I walking up one of these long road driveways. And there are these three HUGE white dogs. They looked like wolves from far away. Well all three of them were staring at us and standing completely still. We had to make a decision. Either proceed up this driveway towards these wolves, or turn around. Well when you're on the Lord's errand what else do you do? Suddenly they start barking and one comes bounding towards us. (I know the suspense is killing all of you) ................turns out these were the fluffiest, nicest, most friendly dogs you've ever met. We were scared for nothing. And to top it off, no one answered the door so we went through all that for nothing.
We had a lesson with Alx this week and she invited her mom to sit in on the lesson. It was actually her mom who talked most of the time and said she would try to be here for our lesson next week with Alx.
On Friday we met a family who is Muslim. They were the sweetest family ever and we had a really great discussion about religion and what we both believed.
We also went on exchanges this week and I was with Sister Hepworth all Saturday. Crazy thing is that she is actually from La Verkin and she worked at the Hurricane Library for like 7 years! I totally recognize her. It was a little weird but it turned out ok. Maybe the kids recognize her ( picture at right -->).
The weather here is still doing strange things. It is still raining and Sunday we survived a crazy wind storm. It was so windy that we could not even ride our bikes! Anyways, that was my week! I hope everyone survived the end of the school year and is ready for Summer!
I love and miss you all!
