Boise East 4 (Week 14)

Hello everyone!!

It was an event filled week! Nothing really went as planned. We had another lesson with Femi and he really is planning on moving at the end of the month but until then we are going to keep meeting with him. We ended up reading the Book of Mormon with him and it was really powerful. He said that it made him feel really good. We brought a member with us and come to find out she has been through a lot of the same struggles Femi has and was able to bring him some comfort. We had no knowledge of that when we asked her to come with us! That was a tender mercy and an example that Heavenly Father guides and blesses all of his children! We left Femi with a Plan of Salvation pamphlet and asked him to read it. He texted us later that week and said it touched him deeply and brought him a lot of comfort.
We met another lady the missionaries had previously met with and what she told us hurt my heart. We talked about the Book of Mormon and she told us, "The Book of Mormon is just another book." Those words cut right to my heart and it hurt so bad to hear someone say that. The Book of Mormon and the Bible are one together. It is not so much one book or the other. It is the fact that our Heavenly Father saw fit for us to have this revelation for our day. Revelation did not end with the Bible and is still continuing today as we have a living Prophet, Russel M. Nelson. The Book of Mormon contains precious truths that were written for our day. Read it every day! It will bring you strength and comfort. I love this quote from President Russel M. Nelson saying, "“I promise that as you prayerfully study the Book of Mormon every day, you will make better decisions—every day. I promise that as you ponder what you study, the windows of heaven will open, and you will receive answers to your own questions and direction for your own life. I promise that as you daily immerse yourself in the Book of Mormon, you can be immunized against the evils of the day, even the gripping plague of pornography and other mind-numbing addictions.” There is power in that book! And I can wholeheartedly say it is not just any other book!
A fun thing that happend this week was that I met a member in one of our wards that went to Hurricane High School! We both had Cullimore for our English teacher! He was kinda weirded out by that because this man is now 41. We are going to be having a Mission Conference on the 24th and Elder Neil L. Andersen of the Quorum of the 12 will be attending along with Carl B. Cook and Matthew L. Carpenter of the Seventy.
I had the greatest surprise of my life! Last night around 8:45 we got a call from one of the old members of our Mission Presidency. He said that they had a gift to deliver for me in the form of a violin by a Darren Loveland! I just about screamed in excitement. We practically ran home to meet him. It was so wonderful to see him and I heard all the good news about Casey's baptism. Miracles happened that day! I miss Albion very much but am so grateful to be serving here in Boise and to work with all of these wonderful people!
I am so grateful that I get to have my violin! It is a huge blessing and I am infinitely grateful for this chance and opportunity I have to share my talents with others.
I love you all! Keep praying for miracles! They will happen and they are everywhere!

Love,
Sister Beutler
