Hello!
This has been another incredible week! We had lots of spiritual
experiences and funny stories.
First off... we got an amazing self-referral for a guy (Connor)
who wants to look into joining the church. We biked 4 miles to meet him and
then set up an appointment for the following day.
Well that next day was insane! We had 3 lessons planned and we
had everything planned out. We had rides coordinated and members to come with
us; it was going to work perfectly! Then it all fell apart (or so we thought).
An hour before our lesson with Linda, we got a text from the member we were
planning to take to Connor's lesson, saying that she was feeling really sick
and couldn't come with us. We texted everyone we could think of who might be
able to go with us, and then went to our lesson. It went great!
After teaching Linda, I checked my messages and every single person
we had texted could not come with us. We were getting desperate with only 15
more minutes before we had to be to our appointment. Finally, we found someone
and turns out it was all meant to be! Her husband was in the same situation as
Connor while they were dating and he was even living in the same apartments!! I
cannot even write down all of the similarities between the two of them.
Heavenly Father definitely had a plan, even though we were worried. We ended up
sending Connor to the Elders because he will be attending church in their ward.
I'm sad about that but it will be good!
We had a lesson with another guy that we had never met before
and let me tell you, I was so out of my element. We brought a recent convert
with us and he let us in. There was a huge gaming station in his living room.
He had it all rigged up. There were like 4 computers and his t.v! He sat in his
rolling chair drinking a glass of wine while talking to us. He questioned us on
just about everything and it got a little interesting. The member we brought
with us asked if she could use his bathroom and she jumped up to go use it. A
minute later, she came back in holding his razor and had the most concerned
look on her face. She said, "Chris? I went to get soap and it squirted all
over this! I wiped it off is that ok?" He looked kinda embarrassed and
said it's all fine. Sister Ashworth and I were trying not to die laughing. It
was pretty funny!
I love these people we are working with! They are all pretty
tough but I love them so much and am not giving up!
Love you all,
Sister Beutler
