Meridian LN 2 (Week 2)

I can't believe we are already a week into December!
Time is flying by and I am realizing more and more every day to seize the moment. Especially as we have been inviting others to Light the World I am seeing how important it is to act when we have good thoughts and promptings. That is honestly how we light the world. It is not necessarily by planning how we will go out and serve (even though that is also good). When you have a prompting to help someone do you do it?
This week we were doing service for a lady named Terry in our area who is older and lives alone. We finished the task she had given us and both Sister Anglin and I felt like we should sing her a song. So we did! We sang, "I Know that My Redeemer Lives" and afterwards she was just so happy! But she asked us with a confused look on her face, "I thought you didn't believe in Jesus Christ?" So we shared with her how we very much do and that he is the focus of everything we do. It was so cool to see how an act of service opened doors to share a message. We are going to be back again this week to help her and have a lesson!
I got to use my violin this week. There is another lady (Irma) who is from Germany we have been visiting for awhile now. She asked us if we would learn one of her favorite German Christmas songs. We took the challenge and I played the violin while Sister Anglin sang the song in German. We finished playing for her and she sat there astounded. She said, "how did you do it?!" then she turned to Sister Anglin and said, "Perfect German! You have no accent!" We can assure you that it was indeed not perfect German, but that the Spirit does work on people and can touch hearts.
We shared with her a scripture from the Book of Mormon and she said she would start reading it!
We had a wonderful surprise this week when at 10:15 one night someone doorbell ditched us and left us a million groceries on our front porch. We were astounded! Our fridge has never been more full. It warmed my heart so much that someone would think of us and do such a kind service.
We also got to participate in another parade! It was so awesome to spread light around. It was a beautiful float all lit up!
Lastly this week we had the most amazing Stake Correlation meeting ever! We had our Stake President, Mission President, missionaries, and ward leaders present. The spirit was so strong as we talked about working together to strengthen each other. This gospel is not dependent on boundaries areas, rather it is working together to further the work. One thing we talked about that was super cool is how the gathering of Israel is real. Our Mission President told us the fastest growing city in the nation is Boise, ID and the epicenter is in Meridian at the crossroads of Linder and Chinden. This is my area!!! How cool is that! People are coming here for a reason. They may not know why but it is because Heavenly Father is gathering his people. He is keeping his promise and we can assist him as we serve others and invite.
So keep lighting the world! I know that every good act you do no matter how small is seen by the Lord and it is counted for your good and the good of others.

Love,
Sister Beutler
