Meridian LN 2 (Week 4)

Merry Christmas everyone!

This week I had the wonderful opportunity to be reunited with my old companion Sister Dochterman on exchanges! We had a good time and were able to get a lot of work done.

We visited with Terry this week and watched the Christ Child video with her. She absolutely loved it! We invited her to come to church and she said yes! We also did some service for her and helped organize a garage sale she wants to have. As we talked about church she got super sad all of a sudden and said, "I don't have anything nice to wear." We assured her that everyone would be happy to see her no matter what she was wearing. We told our Ward Mission Leader that she was a little nervous about her dress and so we got to church and found him waiting by the door dressed slightly more casually than usual. He told us a story of how he was in the same situation when he was meeting with the missionaries a long time ago. He had the exact same concern and someone did the same thing for him by dressing down and it made the world of a difference to him. He is the sweetest man ever!

This week we had another incredible referral. This one came from an unexpected place. There is an assisted living facility in our area and one of the ladies that lives there is a member. She had a good friend there whose name is Gary. Well, he has been struggling the past few weeks and told her that he was lacking something spiritually in his life and could feel it. So right away she invited us over and we talked with him for only a short time because he had an appointment to get to but he wants to meet with us and is going to start coming to church hopefully!
We had our Christmas Zone conference this week as well and it was so fun! We had a big talent show that was so great. I played the piano for a few of the acts and everything went great. I am very happy to have that done with!! We also got all of our gifts that day which was so fun. One of the Sisters that we live with did not receive a single gift. She tried not to show that it hurt her but you could tell she was struggling. We talked to some members in one of our wards and they were so incredible and took off that very day in search of gifts to give her. We can hardly wait for the surprise that is coming her way!!

We also started teaching one other person this week. Her name also happens to be Christy! She has been being taught for the past 3 years and just moved into our area. She told us that she has already decided that she wants to be baptized, but is struggling on recieving an answer as to when is the right time. She has been through a lot of struggles in the past and it is going to take a leap of faith to take her next step. She is so incredible and we are excited to start working with her. She has 2 cute boys that are so spiritual and let me tell you, they have some powerful prayers! Christy is currently dating a member and he was also present when we met her. They told us, "I don't know if it is one of you or the two of you together but you have something good going on with this companionship." That felt really good to hear. It just showed us that people really can tell when we are getting along and the Spirit can speak so much stronger when we are working together in complete unity.

Merry Merry Christmas! There is so much to celebrate and to find joy in this Season. Remember to give a gift to the Savior and continue to light the world!!!

Love,
Sister Beutler
