Boise Central 1 (Week 1)

Somehow it's transfer week again!
The days leading up to transfers was pretty hard. We had to say goodbye to so many incredible people! On Tuesday we went over to Terry's and helped her clean up her house some more. It is cool to look at everything that we have accomplished in the past few months. It is a completely different place! We told her at the end that we were being transferred and that 2 new Sisters would be there to help her next time. She didn't say a word but just turned around and walked out of the room. She came back a few minutes later and you could tell that she had been crying. All she told us is that she is so tired of people leaving her. We comforted her and said a tearful goodbye. We have heard that good things are happening with the new Sisters though so we are very happy about that!
We also said goodbye to our Stake President who is one of the most amazing people I have had the privilege to work with on my mission. He told us some very sweet words and left us with the greatest prayer I have ever heard. I have loved my time so much in the Linder Stake! There are great things happening there and I know that it is going to continue to happen because of the many wonderful people there.
Well Thursday was transfers! As STLs we are supposed to help everyone get to their new areas smoothly so that is what we did. We spent most of the morning transporting people and getting all of our Sisters to their areas. So we get to our new house and I say house because we literally have a whole house to ourselves!! It's pretty nice but I don't think it has been cleaned in about 10 years. Lets just say that after we worked on it a bit, it looks like a completely new place!
Things have been kinda crazy because we do not have any notes for our area and we were both going into this knowing nothing. We cover 4 wards again, one of which is a married student ward. So our area is huge and goes into Meridian and Eagle! We are teaching a ton of people and there are 4 people on date here to be baptized and they are all within the next month!
We got to our area on Thursday and went straight to service that they have scheduled. We went down to the IRC (International Rescue Committee) and let me tell you this is the coolest place! It is pretty much where they help refugees get on their feet. We go every week and go through/organize donations and put together sanitary kits for people. I love it! We also do another service at the St. Vincent De Paul's Food Bank and we help people shop. I also love this one! People are so grateful and it makes me so happy to be serving them.
We had quite a few lessons and I already love these people. We met with this 9-yr old boy, Patrick, who is being baptized next Saturday. He is literally the most hilarious human being I have ever met! His mom asks what songs he wanted at his baptism and he says, "hmm... how about Elton John, U2, Beastie Boys..." He is so excited to be baptized!
We are also meeting with a woman named Allura who wants to be baptized on the 25th of January. We met her and started organizing everything so she can do it on that day. None of her family are members and she doesn't care about anything that happens or who is there. She has such an incredible testimony and we are so excited to help her over the next few weeks!
Other than that, we got asked to speak in church next week and sing by one of our Bishops so we will be working on that this week!
I am excited for this week ahead and to really dive into our area and get to know people. We are still working on figuring out a lot of things! I love you all and hope you have a fantastic week!!

Love,
Sister Beutler
