Parma (Week 9)

This was a fantastic week! ULTIMATE HIGHLIGHT OF THE WEEK.... I got to witness 3 people I love choose to be baptized and make sacred covenants with God! It was so wonderful! Each one was such a special experience. Rachael and Natalya from my last area in Boise were both baptized this week and Nick who we recently passed off to the YSA sisters was baptized. I was amazed with each of them. Rachael is 9 months pregnant now and is due any day! I am so happy for each of them!!! I know that taking this next step will bless their lives forever and the lives of their families. We got to be there in person for Nick's baptism and watched Rachael and Natalya over Zoom.

We also had exchanges this week and I got to spend a day in New Plymouth with Sister Morgan. We were determined to find one new person to teach. We decided to try calling a few people in their area book and every person we called answered their phone!! We talked to one guy in particular that wanted to meet with the missionaries but he was out of town and wouldn't be back in town for a few weeks. Well...we were able to set up a video call for the next day! I love technology!!

We also had some amazing experiences with Mary this week. She got a blessing on Monday and it was so wonderful. She told us that her arm (which she broke 4 days earlier) stopped hurting and that she was the calmest she has ever been in a long time. She had a doctors appointment the next day and they told her that she may not have to have surgery!! She was blown away. After such a hard week this week she has been seeing so many blessings. Her mom also told her that she has seen a big change in Mary since she has been meeting with us. Mary was really surprised to hear that from her mom because she usually does not talk about the church very highly.

Last but not least, we got to go to church for the first time in 5 months!!! Whooo!! It was so wonderful. It is definitely different than before, but I was so grateful to see everyone. I was happy to see that we knew quite a few people in the wards even though we have been confined to being inside so much. Mary came with us and had a good experience.

I really loved this scripture this week! It applies to all of us- I made a few edits to personalize it a little more :)
Moroni 9:6
"And now, my beloved son (or daughter), notwithstanding their hardness, let us labor diligently; for if we should cease to labor, we should be brought under condemnation; for we have a labor to perform whilst in this tabernacle of clay (house/apartment), that we may conquer the enemy of all righteousness, and rest our souls in the kingdom of God."
Jesus Christ is mindful of us. We are all where he needs us to be even though things are different than they used to be. Let us not cease to labor because we still have so much to do! We really can defeat the enemy of all righteousness! I know that we can do it and that as we continue to press forward we will be given strength in every trial. There is something to be learned in all of this!
I love you!

Love,
