Boise East 4 (Week 6)

Hello Everyone!!

This has been a great week. The church recently released 11 new pass along cards and our Mission President has provided 1,000 for every companionship. I absolutely love these cards. 5 of them have questions of the soul on them, 4 are pictures of Christ, and the other 2 are a Bible and Book of Mormon. They have been great tools for finding people.
This was a week full of miracles. We started teaching a lady named Linda. She is kinda a puzzle to us. Her husband is a member and wants her to be able to eventually go to the temple with him. She told us that she wants to listen to the lessons because she agreed to with her husband but she has no desire to know or believe anything we teach her. We will see how that continues to go.

We are continuing to teach Alx and her mom sat in again on another lesson. In it she asked if we could pray for her. She said she is going through a hard time. We prayed for her there and she seemed very grateful. She also told us that she was excited to see us again tonight and can't wait till we come again. I am excited to continue meeting with them.

Another day we were tracting some apartments and not a single door answered. We got to one door and knocked. A younger woman answered the door and we shared with her the card that has the question, "What is the meaning of my life?" She looked at the card for a little bit and then told us that her son had just died a few months ago. Sister Weeks testified to her that our Heavenly Father put us here on the Earth to have joy and that he knows all we are going through. I testified to her that we can find joy in the plan he has laid out for us and in the knowledge we have that our families are eternal and she will be able to see her son again. She told us that she had been home for maybe 5 minutes when we knocked on her door. We invited her to church and she said that she would talk to her husband and they would be there this Sunday.

We met two people in the apartments near our house and they welcomed us right into their home. They told us that they had been to Temple Square in Salt Lake City and were very impressed by it. They are both from India and have only been here for 2 days. We offered them a Book of Mormon and they said that they cannot read English. They read and speak Hindi. In our apartment we just happened to have 2 copies of Hindi Book of Mormons that we were able to bring by another day. It was amazing!

On a funnier note...We had passed a card to a guy we saw as we were walking down the street and invited him to church. He texted us Sunday morning and asked what time church was. We told him the time and he said, " I was in a hot wings competition last night and I ate the hottest one there so I probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon." I am not quite sure what that means but we laughed pretty hard about it. He said that he will plan on coming next week though.

Another funny story... we knocked on one door and it took awhile, but this old lady answered the door just a little bit and said, "I am not wearing clothes." She was trying to hide behind the door, but that hid nothing. We said that we could come back later and she closed the door. We were in shock and we walked away from that door.

It has definitely been a week of miracles! Heavenly Father is looking out for us and for all the people here who are searching for truth. I am so grateful that I get to be a part of this great work and share my testimony with others to bring them more joy and hope for their lives. Never be afraid to share what you know. If you ever feel like sharing something, just open your mouth and speak! NEVER BE AFRAID BECAUSE IT IS TRUE!

Love,
Sister Beutler
