Boise East 4 (Week 7)

Hello from the wonderful IBM!

Well transfers happened and I am still here in Boise! The crazy news is... I am training! Sister McPhee left our trio and now it is just me and Sister Weeks. We got a head start since we have already been companions for 3 weeks now. She is from Mesa, AZ and has had a crazy mission already. She originally was called to the Berlin Germany Mission, German speaking. She went to the MTC in March and got very sick there and had to go home. After a month she was cleared to go and she resubmitted her papers and was reassigned to the Idaho Boise Mission! So now here she is with the wonderful people of Idaho! She is 5'8'' so we make quite the funny looking pair but we get along great!

This week we were out tracting and not having much success. We said just about 30 prayers throughout the day I think. Towards the end of the day we got a call from some Sisters at the Hawaii Temple Visitors Center. They got a call from a guy named Oliver. He called them because he wanted to know if we were Christians. His family is very against the church because they believe our church is not Christian. He had seen missionaries many times before but never talked to them so he called the number on comeuntochrist.org and asked. The Sisters there were able to answer his questions and he told them he would like the missionaries to stop by and talk to him. So we got a pretty solid referral. Oliver is actually moving into our area in 2 weeks and lives in the same apartment complex as us! We called and talked to him and he expressed his excitement to learn more. We hung up from talking with him and just about screamed from excitement! Then we got another call from Oliver again. We answered the phone and he asked, "Do you guys by chance have a copy of the Book of Mormon?" We of course answered, "YES!" His reply was, "If I drive over there can I get a copy from you?" We in turn told him about the Book of Mormon app and how he can download it right on his phone. He is going to do that and get a paper copy when he meets us in a few weeks! That was a miracle I was not expecting!

Then another night we had about 10 more minutes before we did our additional hour of companionship study at the end of the day. We were tracting the apartments we live in and Sister Weeks was freezing. It has been a surprisingly cool week and it has been in the 60s most of the week. I felt bad for her and we were about to go in 10 minutes early. I had the feeling that we should keep walking around so I told Sister Weeks and we did just that. As we were walking I had the thought to go see a lady we had briefly met before. I couldn't quite remember where she lived, but I couldn't get her out of my head. I remembered vividly what her door looked like but not which building it was in. We walked past one building that is kinda tucked away in the trees and I felt that we should go look there. On the very first floor we ran right into her door. We knocked and she opened the door and let us right in. She is a single mom that works from home. She started talking and told us all about all she is going through. She had gotten 3 hours of sleep the night before and works 60 hour weeks while taking care of 2 boys. They are the cutest family and we were able to share some comfort with her. She told us we are welcome to come back any time.

As to being a trainer, I feel as if I do not know what I am doing. I am taking things one day at a time. There was one day I could tell Sister Weeks was struggling and we got home at 8 to do our companionship study. We were reading a talk and she started crying. I let her cry for a minute and then let her talk. She said she had been struggling all day. She knows that she is supposed to be here without a doubt, but she can't help but think of all the things she could be doing. On top of that her health is still struggling and she has done everything she can to make it better. I shared with her about times when I have struggled and talked about what she can do. We read Alma 26 together and she felt a little bit better. The next day we got a blessing from a member in our ward and she is doing much better. I am grateful for this opportunity I have to be here with her. I feel I am learning so much and I may not be comfortable but I am most definitely growing.

I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost and the leading guidance it can give. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for all of us and that He is looking out for us each and every day. There are miracles in every single one of our lives every day. Look for them and write them down! They are a testament of Gods love for you!
I love every single one of you! Thank you for strengthening me and loving me!
Love,
Sister Beutler
