First off, I have been out for 6 months!!! Don't take for granted the time you have. Recognize all the miracles around you and don't take a second for granted. It flies by fast!
This week we got 2 referrals! But we ended up having to send both of them to other missionaries! We spent a long time trying to contact one of them only to find out the next day that the referee put in the wrong address. We got that all figured out and then got another referral that was in our area! Then we got a call from that referee saying to not send Sisters to this guy because he is very bipolar and is not really sure how same he is. So, we referred him to the Elders and turns out this guy wants to be baptized!
Sister Weeks got 2 flat tires on her bike! I have never had to deal with so many bike problems in my life. Thankfully and miraculously nothing has happened to mine (fingers crossed).
We had our first lesson with the guy that came to church last week. He is amazing! He has studied religion a lot in his life and has had some crazy experiences. He told us an experience he had one time. He had a flight scheduled to leave at 3 one day. He heard a voice tell him to change to the later flight that day. So, he did just that thinking, "It can't hurt." Turns out the plane he would have been flying on crashed and everyone on it was killed!! That experience still haunts him sometimes. We taught the Restoration and I had the privledge to recite Joseph Smith's First Vision. I have never felt the spirit so strong as in that moment. I know of a surety that Joseph Smith was a prophet and was called to restore the church back to the Earth today.
We had many other lessons this week and let me just say, Gods hand is in everything. Even when you don't see it or think it, he is there! I have had words come to my mind and love fill my heart that I know I on my own am not capable of. Heavenly Father uses our weakness and our willingness to work miracles among his children. I want every single one of you to know that Heavenly Father loves you so much more than you can ever imagine. He loves you so much that he gave us our bodies, he gave us families, and the ability to learn and grow for ourselves. And the greatest gift of all... he gave us his ONLY son, Jesus Christ. He came into the world so that he could save us, so that we could have the opportunity and ability to choose to return to him. I don't know about any of you, but I find it so hard to comprehend a love that great. But, he does love us that much and he has given us so much more! Thank him for the gifts he has given you and do ALL that you can to be found on his side so you in turn can give him the greatest gift by returning back to live with him.
I am so grateful for this gospel. I often wonder where I would be without it. It is my priviledge to be out here serving in Christs name, as his representative. We are all examples of him. Live worthy of that name and find those around you that need serving.
I love you all so much!! (I know I say that every week, but it is true!). Also, transfers are this week and we found out already that Sister Weeks and I are staying here in Boise together! I am excited for these next weeks ahead!
Love,
Sister Beutler
