This was an amazing week!! We are still staying busy despite our restrictions we have on going out.
Let's see, I'll get to the really good stuff later, but first off we got to move sheep this week! We were able to get out and do some service helping a couple move their sheep. Now, I was kinda terrified at first because if anyone knows me, you know I am not a very big person. These sheep out size me and definitely outweigh me! After telling us all the horror stories of how people have gotten hurt they had us get in the pen with them and put a harness on the sheep and walk them to the other pen. This was a little easier said than done, but we did it and I made it out without any broken bones or bruises 😂
We got to swing on the biggest swing ever! It was literally made out of 2 telephone poles and was kinda the coolest thing ever.
Ok highlight of the week right here:
We had our first lesson with Nick last week and we were only able to teach half of the first lesson. We were planning for our lesson this week and naturally we would pick up where we left off but for some reason it just did not sit right with me. So I told Sister Hartshorn and she asked what we should do instead. We said a prayer and thought for a minute. I kept battling with the thoughts in my head to teach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. While having this inner conflict, I remembered a talk I had listened to earlier in the week that said if we really listen to others they will tell us what they need. I thought back to our last lesson with Nick and he told us how he wants to feel clean and like he has fully repented of his past mistakes. What better thing to talk about than the Gospel of Jesus Christ?! So we ended up teaching that and it went so well. I invited him to be baptized and he said yes!! He told us that he wants to finish reading the Book of Mormon first though. He is pretty far into it already and it is amazing to watch the change that is happening within him so fast.
I know that is because he is drawing closer to his Savior. There is no wound that Christ cannot heal and Nick is learning that as he is immersing himself in the scriptures.
He will be attending the Young Single Adult ward when church starts back up so we are going to be having a combined lesson with the YSA missionaries and they are going to continue teaching him from here.
Other highlights from the week are that we set up a lesson with someone new (Caroll) for this week, we had a live event on our page that went well, and we had interviews so of course I loved talking with President Nygaard.
I love being a missionary! I am learning more than ever about how involved everyone can be though. Nick was introduced through his friend that he works with and Caroll from a neighbor that was a really good friend to them for many years and introduced them when the time was right. You really are the best missionaries. There are a lot of people that need your help right now so please pray for opportunities and listen to promptings you receive!
I love you so much!!
Love,
Sister Beutler
