Well, we finally made it to October! That's crazy! This week has been full of lots of biking. On Tuesday we biked about 15 miles. We went to the edge of our area to contact some people who ended up not being home, so that was kinda a bummer. One of the people we have been trying to meet requested a Bible and Book of Mormon. We have been trying to deliver them for awhile now but she has not been home. Well, we went by one night and this time there was a note on her door saying, "Unless I personally know you, don't knock on my door!" So we left them on her front door with a note and our phone number.
Every week we do service at the St. Vincent De Paul thrift store. This week was very eventful. They had us sorting linens and boy oh boy! Some of the things that get donated just blow my mind! I cannot tell you how much was covered in so much animal hair, stained (from who knows what), and very interesting smelling. That was an adventure and I very much wished I had gloves on!
We had a lesson with Linda after her being gone on a trip for a month and it went really good! I love her testimony of the Bible and she honestly is such a good example to me! We talked a lot about the Book of Mormon and what it is. She is struggling to read it but promised us that she would start. She also watched General Conference this weekend and loved it!
We had planned to watch Conference with everyone we are teaching and all of them but one cancelled on us. That was hard but it was an incredible and inspiring Conference! It is one of my favorite times of the year as we get to be spiritually fed by our leaders.
I got answers to questions I didn't even ask! I was able to apply every single talk to my missionary work and how I can get better or why we do a certain thing. I can truly attest that those men and women were inspired by God to say what they said. Prophets of God truly roam this earth today. Not that I didn't believe that they didn't, but that claim has just been solidified. I just want to share my testimony with everyone that I know God is our Father and that Jesus is the Christ. Our Heavenly Father created a plan for us and that truly is the Plan of Happiness. This gospel has been restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith and the Book of Mormon testifies of truth. I know that President Russell M. Nelson is God's prophet here on the earth today and that he speaks truth.I am so humbled by the great calling I have (and you all have) to help with the gathering of Israel and further this great work! Share what you learned and what you know with someone this week!
Love,
Sister Beutler
