This week has been a bit of a change. I am sure you are all experiencing this wherever you are. We are all adjusting to life in these circumstances, but I fully believe we can find the good in this!
Full time Missionary service is rapidly changing around the world because of our current circumstances. It seems like changes are happening every day. Not only is our missionary work changing a bit, but member missionary work is changing as well. We have been finding new ways to do missionary work and it really is a good thing. I have learned that just because we may be confined to our homes and apartments does not mean our missionary work and your missionary work cannot continue. I have had to remind myself that a lot this week :)
Let's see... our week has been full of online and media work! We have video called with members, called lots of people, done some facebook tracting :), and lots of other things. We have also been given some projects by our office missionaries about service that needs to be done. So we have also been sewing face masks for people in need and for missionaries going home.
We actually started teaching a new person this week! Miracles happen! His name is Craig and he has an amazing story! He just got out of jail about 1 week ago and apparently while he was there he was in a cell with 2 members. He told us, "They had so much hope and faith and they had something that I needed." Well, he started to attend meetings and kept learning. He has been reading the Book of Mormon and loves everything he learns. Well the people holding classes in jail called us about him and we got in contact with him. So far we have had 2 lessons with him over the phone and he attended church in a member's home last Sunday! He is so incredible and really wants to change his life around. He said that he has felt more hope than he ever has before.
One thing Sister Anglin and I have realized that it is time for SPRING CLEANING!! I promise there is a real point to where I am going with this. So you know that cobweb that has been in the corner that you have never gotten around to cleaning? Well, guess what? We have nothing but time! In the same sense... you know all of those things that we always said we would do when we had time (study the scriptures, write in your journal, do family history... etc). All these things we now have time for and we have no excuses! I realized that this week and came to the realization that even though there is a lot of crazy and bad stuff happening that there really is a silver lining. We have been given time to do the things that we have not been able to get around to. What if we spent these weeks in isolation drawing closer to God? We will be more prepared to face the world when we go back out. So yes, it is time for Spring Cleaning literally and spiritually.
I love you all and hope you have another great week in isolation!
Love,
Sister Beutler
