Boise Central 1 (Week 8)

This week was literally incredible! So many good things happened!

Okay I want to start with a miracle. And I do not use that term lightly, let me tell you. So it all starts on Friday evening. We had a great night and honestly things were going great. When we got home for the night, I felt super off. I felt mildly depressed which was super weird because I hadn't felt that way my whole entire mission. I could tell Sister Anglin was a little off as well, but it was late so we just went to bed. I figured I'd just sleep off whatever I was feeling. Well in the morning it was a million times worse. Getting out of bed was a CHORE. We met our district at the church to exercise at 7:00, and honestly that was the only thing that got us out of bed. After we got home we shared with each other how we were feeling. We were both scared and didn't know why we were feeling this way. As we talked with each other we realized we both felt the same way and it started the same exact time. Something was seriously wrong. Sister Anglin just started sobbing. I gave her a hug and we just cried. What we were feeling was such darkness. Sister Anglin looked at me and said, "I know what we need to do. We need to say a prayer. A good on our knees kind." So we got up on our knees and she said the greatest prayer, begging to feel better from whatever this was. After our prayer I said, "you know what? We know just need to go out and do something." So we drove to an apartment complex and tracted a building. Out of all the doors we knocked, ALL BUT ONE LET US IN!! We met 3 people all from different apartments who want us to come back. But wait it gets better. 2 of those people started reading the Book of Mormon. One boy in particular we met is named Dusenge. He is from Uganda, Africa and has lived in Idaho for a few years. He is 16! He asked what church we go to and so we pointed across the street to our building. We asked if he had ever been there and he said no. But maybe someday! We invited him to come to church with us the next day and he agreed! We said we would pick him up at 8:45 the next morning. We gave him a Book of Mormon and invited him to read it. The next morning we get to his house and he comes out in this bright yellow suit with a red tie and these snazzy white shoes. Best dressed award definitely goes to Dusenge. He had his Book of Mormon in his hand and said he had read the introduction. He went to both hours of church and said he wants us to teach him!

As I look at this, I am reminded of the First Vision. Just as Joseph Smith knelt down to pray, he was overcome by the adversary. Satan had such real power over him. Satan knew what the result of his prayer would be. So he did his best to stop it. But Joseph overcame it.
Satan knew what the results of our labors would be if we went out and worked on Saturday. He knew we would find people to teach and he didn't want that to happen.  But through Jesus Christ, we remained steadfast in our faith and saw the miracles come. Cool right?

This week was also super cool because we had MLC, and it was a good one. Sister Anglin and I are one of the oldest STLs now and that's super weird. President Nygaard is super sick right now and he had to leave halfway through the meeting.

On Thursday night, we had the privilege of going back to the Linder stake to be apart of a panel for a missionary prep class! Elder Evans of the Seventy was there along with President Petersen. Elder Merrill and Elder Willis happened to show up halfway through so they joined as well! The faith of these kids was incredible. I learned so much from them. Seeing President Petersen was also a bonus, he's one of the greatest humans to ever walk this earth!! We walked into that room and the spirit was literally so strong. All of those kids have such great faith and I know are going to be great missionaries!

I wish you all a great week and know that if you rely on the Savior you can overcome anything!!

Love,
Sister Beutler
